A CAM delegation is planning to leave for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka on January 9 or 11 to assess the situation and meet with our contacts concerning short-term and long-term needs. After the delegation returns we will make final decisions on the major part of our assistance.
- So far, CAM has distributed $75,000 to trusted contacts for medical supplies, hygiene and sanitation supplies, emergency food items, children's clothing, masks, gloves, body bags, burial, clothes, etc. for use in the following countries:
- Sri Lanka - $25,000
- Indonesia - $10,000
- Thailand - $15,000
- India - $10,000
- Medicines for various countries in the region - $15,000
- Proposals for an additional $110,000 are under consideration at this time for:
- Medicines - $35,000 (various countries)
- India - $25,000 (to rebuild houses for 10 families and to purchase clothing and sleeping mats for 150 families)
- India - $50,000 (to purchase sleeping mats, blankets, basic foods, cooking utensils, etc. for 1000 families)
