I lived in Sugarcreek during the spring and summer of '99 and enjoyed it. I made many friends and attended Gospel Light Chapel near Trail.

Excellent site and very informative. You have a beautiful oldest daughter although I have to admit to liking the earlier photo better (with covering).

I'm so glad you have this website! I uses to receive Rod and Staff's catalogs when we were homeschooling our 3 children about 6 yrs ago. I lost touch when we moved 2 years ago. If you hadn't had this site, I don't know how I would have ever found a way to contact them. Bless You!

Excellent site with interesting resources. I have been a visitor to other mennononite site based around the Pa Mennonites.
I first met Mennos in Thailand where I as a baptist was working in 1980 with Cambodian Refugees. I stand theologically very close to Anabaptists in many areas including the doctrine of believer's baptism, believing the mode is not important.

I was so excited about the poll on Christmas that I had to write to let you know. Most of us celebrate Christmas without even questioning whether or not the LORD wants us to celebrate. If you earnestly seek His will, I am sure you will find that Christmas is not pleasing to Him and that it is the Christianizing of pagen worship and traditions! This will be my 1st year not celebrating. It is a huge challenge and a lonely mission.

I thought the site was a real help in knowing that I do want to go into the field of religion and maybe in a seminary college so that eventually I can become a priest of a minister in a church which is the career I want to go into. I have found alot of great info and writings on the internet including this one that all make me want to grow closer to God and hopefully my dream will come true and I will become the priest that I want to be. thank you and God bless

I only briefly became acquainted with Mennonites while briefly in Mt Vernon, IL. I was curious about your position on military service. I gather from your site, that Mennonites do not serve in the military. How were those who took such a stand thru the World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam treated (before CO status was appreciated).

Re: Marriage as God's PERMANENT arrangement between a couple-- isn't there the scriptural passage regarding unfaithfulness?? (from Jesus, in fact.)
Also, the list of Mennonite doctrines spoke of two eventualities (my expression, not yours)-- eternal damnation, and "bliss with Christ" awaiting a resurrection. Are those at "bliss" the ones awaiting the resurrection? Are they dead? Or in heaven? Or what? If the resurrection doesn't apply to these, then to whom? And what about those who never had the opportunity to be exposed to the Word of God and the salvation of Christ Jesus? How are they judged for damnation or "bliss"?
Sorry, too, to read of your eldest daughter's decision (for now). Wisdom is not a gift of the young.
Best regards,

I live in South Africa, of Reformed extraction (Dutch Reformed Church). Very interesting to hear of our long-lost relatives.

In certain respects, eg baptism, I think that your doctrine might be closer to the Word than ours.

I was looking for something on the Bible Canon.
A Muslim on the Internet keeps bringing up
strange books, such as the Gosepel of Barnabas.
Since the Bible and the Quran do not agree on
everything the Muslims try to say the Bible is
corrupt. In fact they do say the Bible is
corrupt. To counter that I am reading several
Christian apologetic books on Islam, one being
The Islamic Invagion, by Robert Morey. The
world population of Islam is increasing. They
should not be taken lightly. They try to say
that the Christian God and Allah are the same,
but when the Bible and the Quran disagree they
say the Bible is corrupt. A recent book by
a Muslim woman, Rage Against The Vail, by
Parvin Darabi, shows how Islam enslaves women.
A Muslim woman's word in court is worth 1/2 of
a man. Islam is abusing women's rights around
the world. All religions are not good, and
all religions are not the same. The God of
Islam and the God of the Bible are different
gods. The God of the Bible, in the New Testament
at least, is a loving God. Allah is a violent
God. Muhammad was a violent man. Jesus was a
peaceful man. Thank God for Jesus, and thank
God for the Bible, which Islam would make
corrupt. Amen.

Hello Brother Mark,

I just thought I should sign this since I use your site so often. A way to say THANKS. Most useful for me is your search engine. When ever I have a question on something, since I do not have a place to ask it. I check out your search engine. It does not always come up with something, but when it does, it has been very helpful. Since I know you, and your church I know I can trust what I read, though I still search the Scriptures.

I just wanted to make sure you know, that it is so helpful. THANKS.

your sis,
donna

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ, I have enjoyed this site so much. I am very interested in Mennonite life and dream of one day becoming one. My husband does not feel led at this time. We are striving to bring our children up in the Lord's way. We love the Lord and want so much to glorify Him in all that we do. My husband and I have been so discouraged with the worldliness of the churches that we have attended and are now attending. It has saddened us greatly to see so much compromising slowly creep in and be allowed to stay. We are searching for "our place" in this ungodly world. We are now attending a Southern Baptist church, by the way. We do not feel like we have much in common with most of the members there, including the pastor, sad to say. It is very frustrating and we are feeling like misfits. I know that this is not a message board, but if anyone would like to email me , I would love to hear from you!!! Love your sister in Christ, Angel

Thanks for all the work. It has helped answer many questions I had.
I ordered Rod and Staff materials today for the first time in seven years of homeschooling.
I became convicted of the carnal content of so called "Christian" textbooks. Even my children felt that our old textbooks were worldly and not
parallel to our goals as believers in Christ.
We will pray for your family.

I too am an anabaptist though I do not call myself that. I use to be a Catholic (which means I was baby baptized.) But I was set free from the deception of that ungodly religious organization by a faithful Christian brother who witnessed to me (nearly twenty years ago) about the free gift grace salvation of an loving creator God. I have been doing battle for the Lord ever since. By the way, DO NOT be afraid to name names. One of those names would be Martin Luther. If you do a little digging you will find he murdered the anabaptists just as the Catholics did!
